Window & Door Profile Cutting Optimization

Window profiles come in 6 m and 6.5 m bars, and a single order mixes frames, sashes and mullions in dozens of lengths. Manual nesting leaves long unusable offcuts — the optimizer cuts them to the minimum and produces a ready cutting sequence.

How it works

Enter your bar lengths and every cut in the order — for 45° miters, use the length along the long (outer) edge of the cut. The tool nests the pieces across bars with minimal waste and shows a bar-by-bar plan, ready for the double-head miter saw.

uPVC profile and reinforcement separately

The steel reinforcement is cut separately from the uPVC profile — its lengths run 5–10 cm shorter. Run two calculations, or use the “Name” column so different profiles never mix in one plan.

Kerf and usable remnants

A uPVC/aluminum saw takes 3–4 mm per cut — the “Kerf” field accounts for it on every cut. Set “Min remnant” too (say 400 mm): short pieces work for glazing beads and small windows instead of the bin.

Frequently asked questions

What are standard profile lengths?

Most uPVC and aluminum systems ship in 6 m or 6.5 m bars; glazing beads often in 6 m. The calculator accepts any lengths, including leftovers from previous orders.

Does it handle 45° miter cuts?

The tool works with finished lengths. For miters, enter the length along the outer edge of the piece — the same way a double-head saw measures it — and the plan comes out exact.

Can I split an order by color or system?

Yes — separate systems, colors and profiles with the “Name” column or with separate calculations, so each plan covers one bar type.
